Access
To reach Spinalonga fortress, the tour starts with a transfer to the port of Elounda to embark on a boat heading to the island. The boat ride to the island provides an opportunity to appreciate the islands impressive fortifications and scenic surroundings. Kolokitha Beach
Our first stop will be at the beach of Kolokitha. Here, you have plenty of time for swimming at the crystal clear waters, tasting the BBQ served on board. The menu includes pork* chop BBQ, Greek salad, feta cheese, bread, wine or Fanta and seasonal fruit. After our visit at the bay of Kolokitha (app. 1 ½ hours) we depart for the island of Spinalonga.

The leper colony was completely self-sufficient and had its own facilities, including a hospital, church, school, and other amenities. As we head towards our last destination from Elounda by bus, we will have the opportunity for a quick olive oil tasting before arriving at the capital town of Lasithi, Agios Nikolaos. There, you can relax in a café next to the bottomless Lake of Voulismeni and enjoy your walk to the local shops.

Return
We will return back where we will enjoy ample time for swimming in Elounda and a lunch will be prepared for us there with Cretan local products on a beach side taverna. After the lunch we will visit the picturesque village of Agios Nikolaos on our way back to the hotel.
